What a micro task is a very short little project that someone needs to have performed. In exchange you'll receive a small amount of pay. Anyone that is a member of sites like Superpoints, Swagbucks, or survey sites like Inbox Dollars, is familiar with programs like this.
Amazon was the first to create this type of program, and is still the grand daddy of them all. There are hundreds of thousands of tasks or "hits" available on the site at a time. These tasks pay anywhere from a penny a piece to a few dollars. The good thing is that they usually don't take much time at all to complete.
Some people make an ok living by solely working on mechanicalturk.com. Personally, I don't spend enough time there to make a living from it. However, I do spend a few hours a week performing different tasks. It's not a lot of cash, but it will add up.
The great thing about mechanicalturk.com is that since it's an Amazon.com all the money you get goes into your Amazon.com account. I had honestly forgot about this site. I did a bunch of work for them about a year ago, got my money and then for some reason stopped going there. Once I went to put my first Amazon order in, in ages, I discovered that I had balance of $5.78 sitting there. Since I was putting a $50+ order, I was thankful for the extra savings :) But for the life of me I couldn't remember where it came from!
It took a few hours, but it eventually dawned on me where it came from! lol Now I try to go it and find something quick an easy, for at least an hour a day. I usually earn a couple of dollars that I can apply to my next Amazon.com purchase :)
If you're looking for a few extra dollars to make you're great Amazon.com deals even better than I would definitely recommend you check mechanicalturk.com out!
