A Discovery Worth Discovering…

This vast room, with its circular windows and arched doorways, had both of its double fireplaces consumed in a roar and heaving fire; there within, sat a solitary figure. I felt the warmth of it nearly knock me back into the hallway, though I entered softly as not to disturb her so immediately. She was sitting in her long sofa; crossed about it as if in a half-sit and laying position. Her head was dropped and steady as if she were in full concentration. I could see an uneasy stare in her eyes and her face nearly crumbled from its own weight. The fires glowed upon her profile and cast the odd dances of a thousand shadows across her. A tear trickled from each eye like two slightly-dripping faucets that would never really shut off. The atmosphere was heavy and very stern. The silence pierced my hearing into a deaf pause; but for the occasional cracks and sparks of warm fire breathing from the fireplaces.
I sensed the dread of some shadow illuminating within which cut the room off from every other room in the home. A promiscuous ghost seemed to be present; some wreathing specter that was ready to intercede on us both, and it having knowledge on what was to occur and pass between us. I was hesitant and so reluctant to go any further. She made no motion to me or to recognize my presence, though she knew very well I was near her.
My heart pulsed into a steady and loud beat, and it nearly felt as though she could hear its’ every pulse. I couldn’t see directly what captivated her attention so. The back of this sofa obstructed my view. But whatever it was, nothing would have moved her to pause from it then. The moments in time were hard-stacked, and were crushing those before it; and it felt so heavy and weighted to the occasion that nothing before or in the future mattered, but for this single moment. The hard woods creaked as I moved slowly forward.
She did not come to a stir.
Still she made no further motion but to stare downward and drop her occasional tears to where she was looking on.
The heat from those fires made me perspire less than what the occasion seemed to carry in our lives. I could see the paintings on every wall appear to come into life with us. I stared about them and I saw the life of those shadows play in their frames. The rugs below grew into bright embers from the varying colors. And it seemed as though that this full spectrum made a rainbow in the room.
Still, she kept to her silence.
There was a presence there unlike any I had ever known before. It had its eyes peering upon our every move. The hands in the grandfather clock’s face looked to halt on its time; etching out the moment from its normal process. All was not well with sanity and nature there. There was a curb in the straight and narrow line of reality; a single bump in the road; a flash of lightening in the very midst of a clear day. I could feel the thunder of something build with uncertainty. Something was groping my sensibility; those laws of predictable nature somehow overturned into an uneasy, reckless sense.
I could not pardon the scenery for what it mistook. Nature had somehow bent itself into an angle; and an unwelcome eye was now observing us through that invisible camouflage. I felt it; sensed its every blink. There was a mind behind it; a thought. A lantern to ideas that now was watching the ‘playing-out’ on our scene.
Shelly remained as she was; still, silent; probing that unknown article embedded deep within this sofa. Not moving with even a flinch; a pause; a stutter.
She was motionless; placid; iced by some internal, frozen spell which kept her in its trance.
I moved closer; one step to a pause.
There was a pin in that silence.
Her heart beat out in her expression.
I watched; still, silent in my own momentary grave.
She moved; a page turned. She was reading her book. Surely she was finishing up Great Expectations. But her eyes; they told something different. Something real; something unearthed; something more raw than a drama placed in the boundaries of two covers. This was emotional; intimate; all too revealing.
Her eyes told me the tale of her thoughts.
 I moved closer even still.
I felt like a ghost intruding; fearing that I had no influence, but only to observe and watch the diadems in her expressions evolve and change with every cursing moment which passed.
Still, she did not move to recognize me.
I stepped almost within the smell of her fragrance.
Something was here; as I, watching and waiting.
Shelly was much more to the observant than I; and by far, more sensitive to what spirit within had a cause with us. I, even in my dullest and youthful senses, could feel the very marrow in its ancient soul.
I finally moved to front her; coming around the sofa, and so feeling the hot, melting warmth cross over the right side of my face.
 “Shelly?” I inquired…

Cursed Heroes: The Beginnings

From DNA Hackers -  Cursed Heroes The Ones Called Hackers

A smile came across Will’s face as he turned to one of the crew that was in the engine room. “Go tell the captain to get ready the ship is going to get a major boost.” Will then turn to Alin, “Get the extra power connections out, and hock them up to the engines power cell while I get ready.” As Alin pull out the cables and started to hock them into place Will closed his eyes “Hey Mark is there any creatures that you have become that can power the engines?” said Will under his breath “No, but there is one that is very conductive to electrical currents.” Replayed Mark, Will Smiled “I see where you’re going with this, well let’s change my body then.” Will opened his eyes, as he did his body began to change, his body grew slim, his skin became and almost clean color as what seemed like and electric current started running along his skin as his body stretched out like wires.

He wrapped his long Wire like Fingers around the ends of the cables that Alin had hocked to the engines. “Tell the crew we are ready to begin.” As Alin sent the message over the intercom, Will then began to take slow deep breaths to ready himself. “Don’t worry this should work Will I will have the nannies help channel the power to the engines I just hope it will be enough.” Said Mark as Will took his breaths. “We are good to go give it everything we have.” Said Alin from by the intercom as he strapped himself in. Will took one last deep breath “Don’t worry it Will be more than enough. Active Start-core 100%!”

Will’s words echoed through the ship, his chest starter to glow, static filled the air, Will’s eyes started to glow as energy started surging through his body. Then the hum of the engines changed, getting louder as the engines started to use the extra power Will was pushing into it. “It’s working we are at 85% no wait 90% we just need a little more power 98% now just hold out for a few minutes 100% and still rising!” Yelled Alin over the rough of the engines, Will’s hands pulled tight. “Push it all into the engines Mark” as he spoke the static in the air turn to bolts of energy discharging from Wills body into the air. The lights in every room of the ship grew brighter, “It’s at 200% if you keep this up for five minutes and we will be at the edge of the nebula!” Yelled Alin.

The engines roared loudly as the time passed by, two minutes in the gravity in the ship Failed and everything went weightless. The Gravity-core was to strong it was canceling out the gravity in and around the ship, and the ships artificial gravity genitors was not strong enough to keep up. Then three minutes in the ship’s hull started to rattle as if it were coming apart, “Don’t stop Will, give it everything till the last second.” Echoed The captain’s voice across the intercom. The two reaming minutes seam to pass even slower, as the rattling of the ship’s hull grew louder and the rower of the engines echoed through the ship like that of a ship yard with hundreds of ships.

From Time Hackers  -  Cursed Heroes The Ones Called Hackers

The Trapper was ready to fire and as they took aim, the captain ordered that everything be fired even what they were holding back in an effort not to destroy the whole planet during the battle. They were holding back because they figured if they destroyed the planet in the battle it would make it a lot harder to recover the power source if it survived. However, they no longer care about the power source they just wanted the brothers dead. Every gun on every ship lite up as they opened fire, raining down laser fire, bullets, and missiles of all kinds, then their bay doors opened and they let go everything they carried from small bombs to nukes. The brothers looked up; they watched the skies darken as the sun was blocked out by the attack. They knew the attack would destroy the planet if they didn’t do something; they looked straight up then spoke “Activate Star-core”.

They pushed their power past it limit as the first moved faster and faster becoming a blur then vanishing as he pushed himself through time faster and faster, then he opened fire shooting at the missiles, the were frozen from his view, moving so fast even shots stopped once they left his gun. The other moved his gun high as his eyes looked straight into the future, shooting off into the barrage of missiles, seeming to have no target but having missiles veer off course straight into the path of his every shot. The third did not pick his gun up but instead dropping his huge cannon he moved back; standing in the middle of his brothers, he raised his hands high. “Stop!” his words echoed through the battlefield and as they did every missile, rocket, and laser shot that approached the colony froze, even the missiles that had hit froze in the middle of exploding.

The bounty hunter commander fired the two weapons together; the bright beams mixed become a bright red beam headed straight for the brothers. The shot flew straight threw the missiles frozen in time, pulling them straight behind it as it pasted by them. The brothers turn their attention to the shot putting all their power into stopping it, but it came at them with full force not even slowing, and worst yet it broth with it a barrage of missiles.

The Brothers Three took the full force of the impact joining hands to boost their powers and with everything they had, they deadlocked every missile, bomb, and laser, headed for the colony freezing them in time permanently. However, the barrage of missiles the beam broth with it hit the three full force pounding them into the ground. As the smoke cleared, they lay in the huge crater, blood dripping from their broken bodies, surges of energy shooting from them.

Excerpt from Bitten Shame

Jill knew Eden would never recall the incident. It had been years ago and he ascribed little importance to such things and especially to the children. Now she approached him with bile in her expression and placed her hand under his chin, digging her fingers into his cheeks before he snatched away from her. “I bet you don’t remember the little boy do you, Eden? The one who cried hysterically when you brought him to us, that gash in his head.” She glanced back at the other occupants of the room before returning her eyes to him. “Eden here ordered me to shut him up before he’d let Charlie see to his injuries. He didn’t care about him at all, just himself.”

Eden appeared confused a moment, then his eyes widened and a clear look of recognition flashed in his expression. “You’re that little chit who went to live with Doc,” he nodded, proud of his recollection. “And he fell for you. Always locked up inside that hospital like a coward–”

Jill’s palm made contact with his cheek in a loud smack. Eden cringed in pain and terror, skulking deep into the cushions of the couch to keep away from her.

“Jill…” Devan began, but her friend raised a hand behind her to stop anything the other woman might have said.

It could have appeared to the others in the room that Jill had lost control. It was true that her insides were seething with rage, but she was carefully holding her anger in check. If not for that restraint she might have snapped Eden’s neck with a single blow.
